The no 1 rule is you must get enough!! A dip in sleep has a knock on effect - your body needs time to recharge so do yourself a favour and get to bed by 10.30pm.
Best way to manage this is to set an alarm to go to bed! We do it to get up.. why not do it to tell us to go to it..!
2. Eat breakfast
It doesn’t matter how much, but get your day started the right way, with some fuel heading straight for that hungry organ - the brain!
1 slice rye bread / toast
1 glass of milk
A shake (pref homemade with real ingredients!)
3. Take a power nap
Even so much as a 15 minute mid day nap will do wonders to boost your energy levels!
Go find a quiet spot somewhere and close your eyes! Don’t forget to set an alarm - 20 mins max, or you’ll wake up feeling groggy!!
4. The elixir of life WATER!
It really is amazing how being even slightly dehydrated can affect your mental and physical well being!
You don’t need to drink gallons of the clear stuff, but do drink it - you’ll notice the difference - in the clarity of your skin, as well as your energy and concentration levels.
5. Fuel your body
Going for long periods of time with inadequate or poor nutrition will have a negative impact on your well being.
You wouldn’t expect a car to drive for long if you don’t fill it with a quality fuel source, so don’t fill your body up with poor quality either! Choose good sources of lean proteins, good fats and whole carbs..
It might be the last thing on your mind when you’re feeling tired, but a bit of exercise will make you feel a whole lot more alert!
Try to plan when is the best time for you, and stick to it - it doesn’t need to be much / even 15 minutes a day is better than nothing!
